Assassin's Creed prequel details
Pocket Books signs a trilogy deal for Ubisoft's stunning stealth-'em-up
Assassin's Creed is set to get its own book trilogy written by a bestselling author, which clearly makes the Xbox 360 and PS3 game as important as Halo, which also has its own range of books.
The first novel in the Assassin's Creed trilogy is due to launch in October 2007 and will be penned by New York Times bestselling author Steven Barnes. The books will aim to expand on the game by covering the back back-story of protagonist Altair and Third Crusade adventures.
"Assassin's Creed is an all-new videogame franchise that will immerse players into another time and experience," says Tony Key, vice president ofmarketing at Ubisoft. "The Assassin's Creed books, which begin by layering elements that prequel the game, will only expand upon this adventure to an eager audience of gamers and thrill-seekers."
More on Assassin's Creed in the coming months, if not weeks.
