Assassins Creed III release date and more in first trailer
Meet the world of ACIII in new video
Slowly but surely the first details have leaked out about Assassin's Creed III. We know the Revolutionary War setting, the Native American star, the weather effects. But without seeing it in motion it’s hard to visualize. Fortunately that’s all fixed today, as Ubisoft just released the first trailer for the game. Watch and enjoy:
So much promise in that trailer, from jumping around in the wild woods at the birth of America to large scale battles. Here's what Ubi had to say about the story:
"Set against the backdrop of the American Revolution in the late 18th century, Assassin’s Creed III introduces a new hero, Ratohnhaké:ton, of Native American and English heritage. Adopting the name Connor, he becomes the new voice for justice in the ancient war between the Assassins and Templars. Players become an Assassin in the war for liberty against ruthless tyranny in the most stylized and fluid combat experiences in the franchise to date. Assassin’s Creed III spans the Revolutionary War, taking gamers from the vibrant, untamed frontier to bustling colonial towns and the intense, chaotic battlefields where George Washington’s Continental Army clashed with the imposing British Army."
Perhaps the greatest promise of all was the release date: October 30. That includes a special edition with art by comic book legend Alex Ross, and we interviewed the artist about his work on ACIII. Ubisoft also confirmed that the game is in development for the Wii U. We’ll have more details soon, but for now, how about we're happy to just watch this trailer again... and again... and again...
