Assassin's Creed - here's EVERY Assassin, ever!

Agat (Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation)

Aveline's mentor, who saved her from slavers after her mother disappeared. Youd think that would make me a pretty okay guy, but paranoia drove him to lofting heights of crazy, eventually leading him to attack his own pupil.

Grald Blanc (Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation)

A childhood friend of Aveline and the Grandpre family accountant, Grald is Avelines primary source of intel thanks to his vast Assassin spy network. He also has a giant crush on her, which a descendant of hers hints is reciprocated after a trip in the Animus. Try not to think about that too hard.

Baptiste (Assassins Creed 3: Liberation)

The traitorous former master of Agate, who tries to defect to the Templars. Notable for his use of voodoo, and the fact hes one of Avelines victims. Also, his wing arm, which no one seems to talk about. Seriously, I cant be the only one who sees it.

Edward Kenway (1693 - 1735) (Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag)

Oh stop it - you all know Edward Kenway. Father of Haytham Kenway, Edward starts life as a happy-go-lucky pirate, who just wants to drink, shag, and get rich. He becomes captain of the Jackdaw by theft, and eventually gets guilt-tripped into joining the Assassins by Mary Read and Ah Tabai. Crappy husband, poor father, awesome rogue.

Edward is the favourite of Andy Hartup (Executive Editor on GamesRadar)
"Edward is a pirate AND and Assassin. Think about that for a minute. He's a wise-cracking, rogueish, handsome, true-British amalgamation of two incredibly cool historical tropes. He MAKES Black Flag the wonderful, swashbuckling adventure it is. The fact that NONE of the developers I contacted list Edward as their favourite AC characters makes me feel all sad inside."

Adewale (1692 - 1758) (Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag)

Edwards second-in-command, Adewale is a former slave with several axes to grind against Templars and bad uns throughout the Caribbean. A likeable fellow, Adewale gets his own DLC in Black Flag - Freedom Cry - where he wields a machete and a meaty blunderbuss shotgun.

Mary Read (Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag)

When Edward and Mary initially meet, shes posing as Jack Kidd - winner of the least convincing boy pirate in the Caribbean award for three years running. Eventually, the two become an item, but theyre both captured by the British and Mary dies in jail after giving birth to a child. Edward carries her to freedom in one of the most emotionally powerful AC moments. Sob, again.

Mary Read is the favourite Assassin of Ashley Read (GamesRadar Associate Editor)
One of my favourite moments in the whole series is when Edward realizes James Kidd is Not What He Seems. But Mary Read is far more than a crossdressing joke. Skilled in her work and dedicated to freedom, she's also kind and has immense faith in Edward, but will tear him a new one when he deserves it. These two (plus Miss Anne Bonny) make a great team, and it's heart-crushing Edward couldn't see that sooner.

Duncan Walpole (Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag)

Poor Duncan. Hes the Assassin at the start of Black Flag, who Edward hunts through the jungle and eventually kills. Dont feel too sorry for him, though: he was planning to defect to the Templars.

Ah Tabai (Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag)

Leader of the native Assassins order in the Caribbean, Ah Tabai is initially reluctant to recruit Edward because his moral compass doesnt line up with the tenets of the Creed. Still, he saves Edward from jail, so hes a good-egg.

Anto (Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag)

This deep-voiced Assassin runs the bureau in Kingston. Hes a charming older Assassin who matches Edward in a battle of wits.

Rhona Dinsmore (Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag)

Scottish Assassin lady who joins Edward for several Templar hunt missions in Black Flag. Its pretty obvious she has the hots for Kenway. Then again, who doesnt?
