Now before you panic and batten down the hatches, clamber onto your roof and start collecting pairs of things, visionary director Darren Aronofsky hasn’t had a text from God telling him to pull out his lathe.
News has just flooded in that a Noah movie could be on the horizon (see what we did there).
The Fountain director has reportedly wanted to make the movie since he was 13, after he was fascinated by the character of Noah and the apocalyptic thread that runs through the famous biblical tale.
He was inspired to write a poem called The End of The World Through Noah’s Eyes, which won a competition at his school and since then he says it was a project he’s always wanted to do.
"Noah was the first person to plant vineyards and drink wine and get drunk. It's there in the Bible - it was one of the first things he did when he reached land. There was some real survivor's guilt going on there. He's a dark, complicated character." Says Aronofsky.
Aronofsky’s schedule seems to be bursting at the seams. He’s currently directing the Black Swan and in talks about coaching Mark Wahlberg and Matt Damon in boxing drama, The Fighter.
It could be some time before Noah finally berths onto our cinema screens.
