Armed robbers steal over 100 copies of Call of Duty: Black Ops

The Baltimore Sun reportsthatat least two men stormed into a GameStop in Bel Air, Maryland on Saturday night, just before it closed. Armed with semi-automatic handguns, they demanded the store'sentire stock of Call of Duty: Black Ops, as well as cash and game consoles. More than 100 copies of the game were stolen.

Black Opsgoes onsale tomorrow, and thousands of gamers are expected to wait up tonightto be among the first to grab copies. To ensure a successful launch, retailers, of course, already have copies of the game, butthey're forbidden from selling any copies before midnight. They're not, however, forbidden from handing them over at gunpoint.

The local police department has issued a statement urging anyone offered an early copy of the game to call authorities. That is, you know, after you play it for a few hours and revel in the fact that you got an early copy while everyone else is waiting in midnight lines.

Police don't seem to have many leads, though if Microsoft were to notice anyone playing Black Ops onXBLright now in the Bel Air, MD area, itmight give them a start.
