Apple announced a new version of Apple TV today, and this one can play video games. Not just mobile ports, mind you - though a new version of Crossy Road shown on-stage suggests those types of games will certainly exist. The Apple TV will support unique versions of console-quality titles such as Disney Infinity and Guitar Hero, as well as original games developed specifically for the platform, such as Harmonix's Beat Sports, a competitive multiplayer game where you swat and dribble a ball to the rhythm of music.
The Apple TV will take its input from a specially designed remote control that features Siri integration, as well as connected iOS devices such as iPhone and iPad. Customers will be able to pick up the new 32GB Apple TV for $150 or a 64GB version for $200 this October.
