Anthony Mackie has been talking about what we can expect from his character in Captain America: Civil War, specifically with regards to the dynamic between Falcon and Ant-Man. As regular Marvel viewers will remember, the duo got off to an explosive start with one of Ant-Man’s best fight scenes, and according to Mackie, they haven’t entirely kissed and made up.
"Yeah, our relationship is… yeah," says Mackie to Cinema Blend. "It grows in Civil War… But that’s Paul Rudd, man. Paul Rudd and I just make fun of each other all the time, so it just carries over into the movie. So I respect his royals – I’m pulling for his royals – but we just make fun of each other all the time."
Marvel has done a good job of setting up internal conflicts between supposed allies, and it seems that that trend is set to continue, even within Cap’s newly-assembled roster of Avengers. It will be interesting to see just how prominent Ant-Man and Falcon turn out to be in the next film, but from the sound of things, they should get the chance to bounce off each other some more. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Captain America: Civil War will open in the UK on April 29 2016 and the US on May 6 2016.
