Anthony Mackie hypes up Captain America: Civil War

While Avengers: Age Of Ultron may be looming on the horizon, Captain America: Civil War might be generating even more online buzz, as fans prepare to see one of Marvel’s best-loved story arcs realised on the big screen.

And while Anthony Mackie might be biased, on account of his role as Falcon in the Cap franchise, the star has no hesitation in suggesting that Civil War might just turn out to be the studio’s crowning glory.

“It’s going to be a wing-ding doozie of a time,” laughed the star, during an interview with Collider. “The great thing about it is that after seeing Avengers, I joked that Cap 2 was like Avengers 1.5…”

“Now with Avengers 2 coming out, Cap is so far beyond Avengers 2.5… it’s gone to the realm of Avengers 3.8! It’s by far one of the most stupendous rides Marvel has put together. I’m very interested to see once it comes out how they try to top it.”

Punchy stuff then, although we’d have to admit, of all the films on Marvel’s upcoming slate, Civil War is the one that stands out as potentially being the most exciting of all. Iron Man vs. Cap? Consider us sold…

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and co-starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson, Captain America: Civil War will open in the UK on 29 April 2016 and the US on 6 May 2016.
