Anne Hathaway talks Catwoman secrecy in The Dark Knight Rises

Total Film recently sat down for a chat with Anne Hathaway, and unsurprisingly the conversation turned towards The Dark Knight Rises .

Hathaway is playing Selina Kyle, better known as her feline alter ego Catwoman, in Christopher Nolan’s secrecy-shrouded threequel.

Since her casting was announced, we’ve been desperate for more details on this latest interpretation of the character, but the actress is keeping schtum.

When we pressed her for info, Hathaway told us: “I signed a blood oath… [ Raising her hands ] Bloody thumbprint on the paper.”

She did at least explain the appeal of the role to us: “I went after it because it was the best role and Chris was willing to meet me.”

“I want to be the best actress I can be and that means working with the best people and taking the most challenging roles. That’s the plan and so far it’s led to some really exciting places.”

So is there anything she can tell us about The Dark Knight Rises ?

“It’s going to be really good.”

As if we didn’t know that already…

The Dark Knight Rises opens 20 July 2012.
