By tapping into every gamer's inner desire to fling cute colorful birds into fat pigs and giant towers, Angry Birds has become one of the most successful iPhone games yet. But it hasn't gotten a whole lot of Android love, so the developer has decided to give it away for free... on the Android only. Sorry, iPhoners - you're still gonna have to dole out the massive 99 cents for the title.
"We want to make Angry Birds available for as many people as possible," said developer Rovio in a statement.
"Previously, many people were experiencing problems in finding Angry Birds on Android Market, but now everybody can download the game on their device."

It's true - navigating the Android Market is a clunky and challenging procedure. It's sometimes hard to believe it's something Google developed. But that's another discussion for another day.
To get confused Android gamers away from the Android Market, Rovio has made the free download available exclusively throughGetJar, a third-party app store spanning a variety of different mobile platforms.
Gamers can point their Android phone's mobile Web browser tom.getjar.comand search for Angry Birds there, which allows them to download it directly to the phone at no charge.

It seems like a curious move to start offering the game for free to such a large chunk of the mobile phone market -on the Apple App Store it has already sold more than seven million copies at 99 cents a pop. But Rovio wants to be seen as more than just an iPhone game developer, so this is how it's expanding its presence.
I guess those trendy iPhone owners with all their disposable income will be able to offsetthe cost of giving the Android version away for free.
