Maleficent has released a new poster online, showing off Angelina Jolie in all her sinister glory as the titular antiheroine.
The new poster is a simple and straightforward affair, putting Jolie front and centre in her be-horned costume, as she manages to pull off sexy and scary in one fell swoop.
Special mention should also go to the Jolie cheekbones, which look sharp enough to draw blood on their own without her taking recourse to those claw-like fingers.
The new film will tell the story of just how Maleficent came to be such an evil individual, with Jolie intent on playing her as a wronged woman, with revenge first and foremost among her motivations...

Directed by Robert Stromberg and co-starring Juno Temple, Sharlto Copley and Sam Riley, Maleficent will open in the UK on 30 May 2014.
