American Gods will have "so many digital erections", says showrunner Bryan Fuller
Neil Gaiman's American Gods novel will be getting the small screen treatment next year (watch the first trailer here), and those who tune into the show should be prepared to see a whole lot of digitally enhanced dicks. Showrunner Bryan Fuller - who is also the man behind the new Star Trek TV series - revealed the info while talking to Ain't It Cool:
"We have so many visual effects that involve digital erections. We have conversations, 'Well, should we get [a] dildo and strap it onto the actors, is that going to be more cost effective? Or is it easier just to give them digital erections?'"
Given that Gaiman's novel features everything from gay deity sex to sex between a man and a desert creature, this may not come as much surprise to fans of the source material. Indeed, fans will probably be happy that the show isn't going be toning down Gaiman's work. As for the actors, they'll presumably be happy with not having to lube up before certain takes.
Starring Ricky Whittle, Ian McShane, Emily Browning, Gillian Anderson, Crispin Glover, Pablo Schreiber, Cloris Leachman and Peter Stormare, American Gods is expected to premiere in 2017.
