Prime Day tablet deals are done for now, and Amazon provided some nice device discounts in 2024. Some of you will have no doubt grabbed some excellent iPad, Fire HD, and Samsung Galaxy offers. However, if you missed out, our handy hub will help you prepare for next year's subscriber sale and upcoming events in terms of prices, models worth looking at, and how much you should pay.

Tablets always make their way onto the Prime Day gaming deals pile, and it's easy to see why. While high-spec devices by Apple, Samsung, and even Amazon itself can set you back a chunk outside of the sales, waiting for events like Big Deal Days can result in you paying well under MSRP. Whether you're looking for the latest generation of gadgets or cheaper models that are slightly older, there are plenty of ways to save and use the sale to your advantage.

If you're just looking for all things Apple, you may want to sneak off to our Prime Day iPad deals hub for a more fruity selection. Otherwise, here's what to expect from Prime Day tablet deals next time, alongside some buying advice, price history context, and use case pointers that should make grabbing a bargain a breeze.

Last year's Prime Day festivities featured some substantial discounts across various tablets, and this year's event is no different. Amazon's own Fire HD range received the biggest cuts, but you'd be surprised how many brands and rival retailers like to slash prices before the end of Prime Day.

Of course, some of the best tablet deals apply to slightly older models, like the 9th gen Apple iPad. The 10.2-inch device dropped from $329 to $249.99 during the summer sale, which is impressive given it's armed with an A13 bionic chip and is still widely supported. If you'd rather keep up to date, the 10th gen version also dropped in price by $50 - a slightly smaller discount, but still pretty handy if you need a new tablet to go with your iPhone 14 Plus (or iPhone 15 if you've got one already).

On the Prime Day Kindle deals side, Amazon slashed the prices of its new Fire Max 11 tablet by $90 this year. So, before the event ends, keep an eye out for more last-minute discounts. You'll also want to watch out for Fire HD 10 and 8 price cuts. If you're in the market for an Android tablet, you'll naturally want to watch out for Samsung tab deals.

That said, the Galaxy Tab S7 Plus is already down to the same price it was during Prime Day 2023, meaning it's perhaps less of a deal and more of a makeshift price change. It hasn't actually jumped back up to full price since March 2022, but we'll see whether it ends up reaching a new low when October comes around.

As a general rule of thumb, Android tablets tend to drop the lowest during Prime Day. Last time, we did manage to unearth a few that are ideal for general use, like the Lenovo Tab M8, but options are starting to dwindle. That's largely due to the fact most people are either going for specific brands or picking up alternative devices for playing games. If you're just looking for something specifically for that purpose, it's well worth checking out the best gaming handhelds or swinging by Black Friday Steam Deck deals for some great portable options.

I’ve been messing around with PCs, video game consoles, and tech since before I could speak. Don’t get me wrong, I kickstarted my relationship with technology by jamming a Hot Wheels double-decker bus into my parent’s VCR, but we all have to start somewhere. I even somehow managed to become a walking, talking buyer’s guide at my teenage supermarket job, which helped me accept my career fate. So, rather than try to realise my musician dreams, or see out my University degree, I started running my own retro pop culture site and writing about video games and tech for the likes of TechRadar, The Daily Star, and the BBC before eventually ending up with a job covering graphics card shenanigans at PCGamesN. Now, I’m your friendly neighbourhood Hardware Editor at GamesRadar, and it’s my job to make sure you can kick butt in all your favourite games using the best gaming hardware, whether you’re a sucker for handhelds like the Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch or a hardcore gaming PC enthusiast.
