Alphas Cancelled
Syfy axes superpowers show after two seasons
The US Syfy network has cancelled Alphas after two seasons. The final episode aired in October.
“Unfortunately #Alphas is cancelled,” Ryan Cartwright (who played Gary Bell) tweeted last night.
Warren Christie (Cameron) and Azita Ghanizada (Rachel) confirmed the sad news. “What an honor to get to play Rachel for 2 years & to work w/ & for the MOST AMAZING PEOPLE EVER,” Tweeted Ghanizada. “Thanks for tuning in the last couple of years!” added Christie.
Syfy then issued the statement: “Syfy has decided not to renew Alphas for a third season. We’ve been proud to present this entertaining, high-quality series for two seasons and to work with an incredible ensemble of talented actors, producers and creatives as well as our partners at BermanBraun Television. We’d like to thank the show’s dedicated regular viewers for their tremendous support.”
Alphas averaged only just over 1.1 million viewers on Syfy for its second season, so the network’s decision doesn’t come as much of a surprise. [via TV By The Numbers ]
