Alan Cumming not returning for X-Men: Days Of Future Past
Despite what James McAvoy says…
X-Men: Days Of Future Past has been recruiting old faces at such a rate, it wouldn’t come as a complete surprise to see the entire ensemble from the first two films reporting for duty.
However, one face who will not be reappearing is Alan Cumming’s Nightcrawler, with ComingSoon.net confirming word from the production that the character will not be involved.
The reason his name had been raised in the first place was due to an interview with James McAvoy in which the Scottish star named his compatriot as one of his co-stars in the forthcoming sequel.
“It’s huge,” said McAvoy to Heat Radio (via ComicBookMovie ). “The cast is huge. You’ve got me, Nick Hoult, Sir Patrick Stewart, Sir Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Alan Cumming, Peter Dinklage… 'Huge' Jackman‘s coming by. He is huge. He’s massive, he’s about 7’5″.”
Sounds like J-Mac was talking out of turn regarding Cumming, but all the others are thought to be on board, alongside Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Fassbender. Directed by Bryan Singer, the film will open in the UK on 18 July 2014.
