Anchorman 2 poster revealed
And Adam McKay discusses forthcoming teaser trailer
Anchorman 2 has filmed a new teaser trailer that will air ahead of The Dictator , a process director Adam McKay has described as extremely helpful in coming up with ideas for the new script.
"Paramount came to us with the idea of the teaser," explains McKay, "and since we’re writing the script it was a good chance to see the characters and hang out with the actors to inspire writing."
"All of the actors slipped right into character and they all looked amazing," he continues. "Paul [ Rudd ] has a beard and we’re thinking of keeping it. Kind of an Eddie Rabbit meets Serpico look."
As for what exactly we can expect from the second film, McKay is playing his cards fairly close to his chest.
"Nothing’s set," he says. "Right now I can say for sure there is no Ghost Rider cameo or a scene where Ron fights a wolverine on a nose-diving helicopter. We’re either going to shoot the movie in 3D or 1/2 D. "
Meanwhile, Ron Burgundy took to Twitter to talk up the new teaser trailer. "Dont get Twirter," begins the message. "Anchorman2 teaser w Dictator tom night. Dont know what a teaser is. World is crazy? Having a scotch." Anchorman 2 will open at some point in 2013.
UPDATE: And a new poster has been released (handily spotted by the guys at The Lebanese Cinema Movie Guide , via Collider ). It's a tease, serving only to increase anticipation... which it does exceptionally well. It also reveals a subtitle that suggests the legend of Ron Burgundy is still going strong...
