Voice actors Elias Toufexis (Deus Ex: Human Revolution) and David Hayter (Metal Gear Solid) dominated the stage at the Canadian Videogame Awards yesterday as they presented the award for Best New Character. The gravel-voiced men reprised their roles as Adam Jensen and Solid Snake for a quote-off, jabbing at each other with barbed tongues and gritty intonation.
Naturally, Toufexis opened with his famous "I never asked for this," to which Hayter responded, "Listen. I don't have any more tears to shed." A little more obscure perhaps, but those who recall Snake's conversation with Otacon after defeating Sniper Wolf will remember the line fondly. Don't worry, I won't spoil the rest for you.
