Aaron Eckhart and Sean Bean sign on for Pan
Ben Hibon’s dark Peter Pan reimagining
Aaron Eckhart, Sean Bean and AnnaSophia Robb have all signed on to director Ben Hibon’s Pan .
A dark reimagining of the Peter Pan yarn, the film will use J.M. Barrie’s tale as a launchpad for a gritty, modern day action-thriller.
In Hibon’s version, Eckhart will play tormented detective Hook, who’s on the trail of a childlike kidnapper. Robb, meanwhile, will play survivor Wendy who helps him on his quest.
Which just leaves Bean, who will take on the role of Smee, here a chief detective and Hook’s lone ally on the police force.
Of all the Peter Pan adaptations currently in the works (Channing Tatum’s horrible Peter Pan Begins envisions Pan and Hook as brothers, while there’s a book adap of Peter And The Starcatchers in the works), Pan sounds the most promising.
And considering Hibon was responsible for the breath-taking animation sequence in Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows – Part 1 , we can’t wait to see what his vision is for Pan .
