Ozwald Boateng, tailor to the Hollywood A-list, is one of British fashion’s brightest stars. This doc, culled from 12 years of footage, follows the designer as he joins Givenchy, becomes a US reality TV star and puts on a huge fashion show in Ghana.
Sadly, rather than provide insight into Boateng’s creative process, director Varon Bonicos is dazzled by the globetrotting, celeb-schmoozing lifestyle.
And he’s too close to his subject to really probe Boateng’s ego, even in the face of marital woes and some amusing Zoolander -esque mishaps behind the catwalk. Nice suits, mind.
