After numerous rumors hinted of an 80GB PS3 being on the way, the existence of the larger hard-drive-equipped machines has now been confirmed by an Official Sony site.
A PS3 spec sheet posted on the official Korean PlayStation website confirms that the Korean model of PS3, which is set to launch in the region on June 16, will come packed with an 80GB - 20GB larger than the 60GB versions of the console released everywhere else in the world.
The document also reveals that the PS3 will also come without the Emotion Engine chip - the PS2 processor that helped with backwards compatibility with PS2 and PS1 games included in Japanese and US models but later removed from Europeans versions.
No hint as to if or when the 80GB PS3 will be shipped to other regions have been made.
