Scott Pilgrim Vs The World (2010)
The Teen: Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera).
The Trouble: Scott's attempts to date Ramona Flowers are hindered by her seven evil exes, each of whom he must fight if he's to get anywhere.
How Is It Resolved? He fights them; he wins; he gets the girl. If only life were as simple.

Attack The Block (2011)
The Teen: Moses (John Boyega).
The Trouble: Compelled to act tough in his run-down London 'hood, this 15-year-old picks a fight with an alien, and then has to fight for his life when the creature's mates arrive en masse.
How Is It Resolved? Moses lures the "gorilla wolf motherfuckers" to his apartment where he blows them up. He's arrested, but he has earned the respect of the block.

Twilight (2008)
The Teen: Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart).
The Trouble: Newcomer to the small town of Forks, whose attraction to moody Edward Cullen gets serious when she finds out he's a vampire. She wants to shag him… but that means becoming a vampire herself. What should a girl do?
How Is It Resolved? Eventually she puts out and gives birth to an immortal child. The process is drawn out across five films, mind.

Gremlins (1984)
The Teen: Billy Peltzer (Zach Galligan).
The Trouble: Really, you shouldn't give a kid a Mogwai for Christmas if he can't follow three simple rules. A splash of water, a midnight feast and you've got a full-scale Gremlin invasion on your hands.
How Is It Resolved? With help from Walt Disney, Billy massacres most of the Gremlins in a cinema, and then picks off leader Stripe at dawn.

Mean Girls (2004)
The Teen: Cady Heron (Lindsay Lohan).
The Trouble: Home-schooled ingénue who gets sucked into the world of the Plastics when she befriends queen bee Regina George.
How Is It Resolved? Cady becomes a pariah after inadvertently causing Regina to get hit by a bus, until she uses her win as Spring Fling queen to unite her classmates.
Sample Quote: "Half the people in this room are mad at me, and the other half only like me because they think I pushed somebody in front a bus, so that's not good."
Juno (2007)
The Teen: Juno MacGuff (Ellen Page).
The Trouble: Sixteen-year-old Juno gets pregnant after sleeping with on/off boyfriend Paulie and decides to have the baby on behalf of childless couple Mark and Vanessa.
How Is It Resolved? After Mark comes on to Juno, his marriage breaks down - but Juno still gives up the baby to Vanessa, and gets back together with Paulie.
Sample Quote: "Yeah, I'm a legend. You know, they call me the cautionary whale."
The Breakfast Club (1985)
The Teen: John Bender (Judd Nelson).
The Trouble: Along with four classmates, the "criminal" Bender is sent to Saturday morning detention for his anti-social behaviour.
How Is It Resolved? Bender bonds with 'the Breakfast Club,' admitting his background with an abusive father and even getting a kiss from "princess" Claire.

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower (2012)
The Teen: Charlie Kelmeckis (Logan Lerman).
The Trouble: Shy freshman who is struggling to cope with a friend's suicide and - unbeknownst to him - repressed memories of being sexually abused by his aunt.
How Is It Resolved? Charlie attempts suicide but is found in time; he recovers after extensive counselling.
Sample Quote: "There is so much pain. And I don't know how not to notice it."
Kick-Ass (2010)
The Teen: Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson).
The Trouble: Scrawny nobody who dons a mask to become vigilante superhero Kick-Ass, only to get a severe beating.
How Is It Resolved? Dave's tenacity pays off and he learns to take - and administer - a beating, even if he's still second-best next to fellow crime-fighter Hit-Girl.
Sample Quote: "Come on, be honest with yourself. At some point in our lives we all wanna be a superhero."
Scream (1996)
The Teens: Billy Loomis (Skeet Ulrich) and Stu Macher (Matthew Lillard).
The Trouble: Psychopaths who make a pact to bump off their classmates disguised as 'Ghostface' - Billy is out for revenge on the community he blames for his mother's death. Stu has just watched too many scary movies.
How Is It Resolved? Billy's girlfriend and would-be victim Sidney Prescott turns the tables and kills both of them.
Sample Quote: "Did we ever find out why Hannibal Lecter like to eat people? DON'T THINK SO! See it's a lot more scarier when there's no motive, Sid."
