50 Greatest Movie Sisters
Doing it for themselves
The Parent Trap (1998)
The Sister: Lindsay Lohan pulls double duty on this sweet-natured kids movie, playing a pair of identical twins striving to reunite their separated parents. They're meddlers, essentially, but their hearts are in the right place.

The Railway Children (1970)
The Sister: Jenny Agutter is heartbreakingly charming in this adaptation of the classic children's story by E. Nesbit, adopting a very maternal role towards her two younger siblings after their father is wrongly imprisoned for selling state secrets.
Sibling Rivalry: A bit of minor impatience here and there is about as far as it goes. As we said before, she looks out for the other two like a mother hen.
Georgia (1995)
The Sister: Georgia is a successful singer, with a grounded personal life. Little sister Sadie however, is failing as a singer, and has all manner of off-stage issues. Fortunately, despite the inherent jealousy bound into their situation, big sis is always on hand to look after her younger sibling…

In America (2003)
The Sister: Naomi and Kirsten (played by real-life sisters Emma and Sarah Bolger) are just about the cutest pair of big-screen sisters you could hope to see, a charmingly precocious pair who more than hold their own alongside Paddy Considine and Samantha Morton.
Sibling Rivalry: They're remarkably well balanced, and indeed, cope with the death of their brother far more impressively than their parents do. Rather than indulging any rivalry, they're the cornerstone of the entire family unit.
