The Poster: Vivid and classy, showing us what happens when a dead person gets his teeth into the skull of a living person. Clue: it doesn’t end happily.
Coolest Detail: ‘Living Dead’ is spelled out in blood, because of course it is.
The Devils Backbone (2001)
The Poster: Suitably bizarre, considering it’s paying tribute to a film by Guillermo del Toro.
Coolest Detail: There’s a number 12 on the jar…
Critters (1986)
The Poster: Celebrating everything that is amazing about B-movie horrors – particularly ones that feature Alien rip-off ETs who like to eat people.
Coolest Detail: That’s the actual farm from the movie – detail reigns supreme.
They Live (1988)
The Poster: Taking its inspiration from a scene in John Carpenter’s underrated paranoia-stirrer. Don’t think that’s meant to be Roddy Piper in the mirror, but you never know.
Coolest Detail: The ‘This Is Your God’ emblem.
Pans Labyrinth (2006)
The Poster: Fantastical in every way, much like del Toro’s bleak fairytale. Fauns never looked so cool – no, not even when they’re played by James McAvoy.
Coolest Detail: The title’s in its original Spanish. We like that.
A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984)
The Poster: Just beautiful - a nightmare version of that scene from the movie in which Johnny Depp spectacularly bites it.
Coolest Detail: The bed and all its trimmings – Wes Craven would be proud.

The Poster: Expertly creepy, with supernatural-looking clouds spreading threateningly above. We all know what that tree’s capable of.

Star Trek: First Contact (1996)
The Poster: A pastiche on the renaissance paintings of yore that feature beautiful women who were considered the finest of their species. The same can arguably be said of the Borg Queen.

The Poster: Cramming in all seven of Ramona’s evil exes, with Scott Pilgrim himself striking a no-bullshit pose up front.
