5 reasons you should go to the PC Gamer Weekender

The PC Gamer Weekender is just a few weeks away, and you still have time to secure your spot in the two-day celebration of desktop (and laptop) gaming. It's all kicking off in London at the Old Truman Brewery on March 5 and 6. Need some hard facts to leave your lovingly crafted rig behind for a weekend? Here are five:

1. Go hands-on with 50 games, including Dark Souls 3

Like a LAN party from the future, the Weekender is your chance to try out much-anticipated games before they hit stores. The line-up includes Dark Souls 3, Umbrella Corps, and Total War: Warhammer.

2. Beat down scrubs at a Street Fighter 5 tournament

Nothing like a good old winner-stays Street Fighter brawl. Unlike the arcade, you won't just bask in glory for going undefeated: win five matches in a row and you'll earn fabulous prizes.

3. Get a copy of Dustforce just for showing up

Not sure you can hold your own at Street Fighter 5? Don't worry, you'll still get a free copy of high-speed platformer Dustforce just for coming to the event.

4. Meet the people behind your favorite games

The PC Gamer stage will host a revolving lineup of guests throughout the weekend, including the people behind games such as Divinity: Original Sin and Crusader Kings 2.

5. You and your friends can go for free

Sign up for one of five chances to win five free tickets below.

If that sounds like a fun way to spend a weekend (and if it doesn't I just don't know you any more), you can get your tickets now.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
