Warners has officially announced what many sites had already suspected: Clash Of The Titans (release date, 2 April) and Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part One (19 November) will be released in 3D as well as 2D formats at the cinema. The film company also revealed that animated owl movie Guardians of Ga'Hoole (24 September) and belated (non exactly much-anticipated) sequel Cats %26 Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore (July 30) will have the 3D treatment. Presumably that means that Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part Two will also be in 3D. Unless the first part stiffs, which seems unlikely.
Variety is also reporting that Transformers 3 might go down the 3D route: "There have been discussions among Bay, Paramount and Industrial Light & Magic about going 3D with the pic. The big stumbling block is the extra time required to do production and visual effects in 3D, as the movie's release date is already set. Having the pic post-converted could alleviate that problem." Well, Clash managed to turn it round within a few months of its release date.
