3 Days of Spider-Man 3 - Mean Streets
We tell you what to expect when swinging around
Gang bang
Now this is a new element we've very pleased about. Populating the city are three rival gangs that need to be suppressed - if you don't do your job and keep them in line then eventually they'll start a riot. This is a great addition for a number of reasons. First off, it gives an identity to the previously faceless thugs we saw in the last game and, hopefully, it'll help make the streets feel more populated and less deserted.
Ter-rafic
Vehicles will play a dynamic role this time - and not just as the focus of crimes. They'll be more destructible for starters and, using Spidey's new slingshot abilities might be a handy way to get around. One of our favorite bits in Spider-Man 2 was swinging on to a moving car and pounding the roof until the thugs inside ran out - ready for a Spidey-fueled fight.
Boss attack
Key encounters from the film will be what Activision is calling "cinterludes" - timed button-pressing affairs like the Quick Time Events in Shenmue on Dreamcast. Peter Parker's fight with Harry Osborn above the streets of Manhattan will be one such "cinterlude." We're expecting more with different baddies, too.
